Come hear exquisite Middle Eastern music and benefit Palestinian children's education at the same time! The Friends of Deir Ibzi'a present the renowned Georges Lammam Ensemble performing classical and popular Arabic music in concert at La Pena Cultural Center. Admission $15.
Proceeds provide scholarships for youth in the West Bank village of Dier Ibzi'a (outside Ramallah). The children's art and women's embroidery will be on display. For more info, visit

BACKGROUND INFO

The Friends of Deir Ibzi'a (FODI) are Bay Area activists who traveled to Palestine the last two summers as volunteers with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM). FODI is a nonprofit organization under the fiscal sponsorship of the Middle East Children's Alliance.

This concert is one of several fundraising efforts to support the education project. Friends of Deir Ibzia provides scholarships to improvished students of this village that, like the rest of Palestine, is suffering the effects of the occupation.
