Parkway Action Alert: Attend BOS Meeting 4/13
Here's the latest action alert from Warren Truitt of the Save the American River Association. I urge everybody to attend the budget workshop at the Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, April 13!
MARCH 9TH QUALITY OF LIFE BUDGET WORKSHOP
Thanks to all of you who attended the March 9th Board of Supervisor's Budget Workshop on Quality of Life funding categories, which included the American River Parkway, Gibson Ranch, 4-H, Therapeutic Services, Animal Care & Regulation, Master Gardeners, etc. Huge cuts are being proposed, as much as 85% in the case of the Parkway. Our turnout was excellent and made an unforgettable impression on the Board of Supervisors as well as the County Executive. However, Sacramento County still has a huge funding shortfall.
BOARD OF SUPERVISOR'S (BOS) LAW ENFORCEMENT BUDGET WORKSHOP -- TUESDAY, APRIL 13TH AT 9:30 A.M. PLEASE ATTEND !
The BOS Budget Workshop relating to Law Enforcement which includes the Parkway Rangers is next and equally AS important AS the March 9th Budget Workshop. Imagine the Parkway without ranger patrols! Your presence on April 13th is absolutely needed to let the BOS know we care.
Below is the message we are broadcasting via mailings, e-mails and postings. Also, the same message is attached in flyer format (at the very bottom of this e-mail) if you wish to post it and/or pass it on to others. PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY ! Please help us keep our County parks and open space open and safe. Do your part -- participate in maintaining the Community's health, safety and welfare by attending this meeting!
MAYDAY PDA (PUBLIC DISPLAY OF AFFECTION) - SATURDAY, MAY 1ST
Whatever way you enjoy the Parkway, please plan on doing it May 1st. Join with family and friends to be on and celebrate the Parkway May 1st. Details to follow.

PUBLIC SAFETY IS QUALITY OF LIFE ,
QUALITY OF LIFE IS PUBLIC SAFETY !
Please attend the Board of Supervisors Budget Workshop at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April l3th. The hearing will take place in the County Administration Building at 700 H Street in the Board of Supervisor’s Chambers. The Supervisors will consider public safety budget items. Funding for the parks and park rangers is imperative. Unsafe parks and open space will quickly become a law enforcement nightmare.
In addition, your presence will continue to remind the Supervisors that the Quality of Life programs are essential to the health, safety and welfare of our Community. The success of each and every program depends on everyone being there to do their job!
Your continued participation is making a difference! Call us at (916) 383-1298 or go to http://www.sarariverwatch.org for the latest updates. At the very least, call your Supervisor and make you position known.
