The new police chief must be held accountable for what her troops do. The brutality was unjustified. With the new police commission forming we must weigh in on what is acceptable behaviour by the police during demonstrations.

The police on Saturday used buses, motorcycles and cops to pen in the march rather than letting it continue. We must establish a policy of facilitating rather than preventing. Come to city hall Tuesday during public comment and talk about the police brutality, and bring pictures; they can be shown on overhead projectors.

SF police had numbers on their helmets, we must pass legislation that requires cops from other jurisdictions like the Highway Patrol to do the same, otherwise they become unaccountable goons.
