Three Northern California Servicemen Killed in Iraq War
Three Northern California men are among the latest U.S. soldiers to die from injuries suffered in Iraq
Foster City was killed Monday about 60 miles west of Baghdad. The Defense Department said the 20-year-old was hit by hostile fire.
Army First Lieutenant Michael Vega, 41, died Saturday at a hospital in Washington, D.C., nine days after a vehicle accident in Iraq. Vega was raised in Vallejo, and most recently lived in San Joaquin County.
Army Major Mark Taylor of Stockton, 41, also died Saturday during a rocket attack in Fallujah. Taylor was a surgeon, just about four days from completing his second deployment in Iraq.
