Everyone is out of jail. There were 3 confirmed injuries- 2 broken arms and 1 broken thumb. Two people are being charged with felonies.
I just spoke with the Legal Office and here is the update on the arrests:
The NLG/Legal Team has documented 99 arrests total for Friday 3/19 and Saturday 3/20, but there may still be people who have not yet contacted the legal office. Those people are encouraged to call 415 285-1011. The legal team is working to find lawyers for all of the arrestees' arraignments. Everyone is out of jail. There were 3 confirmed injuries- 2 broken arms and 1 broken thumb. Two people are being charged with felonies.
Arraignments have so far been scheduled for: tomorrow, April 7th, and April 8th. There will be arraignments on other, future dates, because only 8-9 are being arraigned at a time.
What you can do:
People are encouraged to go to the arraignments to support the people who were charged when expressing their first amendment rights.
People are also encouraged to call the District Attorney, Kamala Harris, and encourage her office to drop ALL of the charges. Tell her that these people were expressing their first amendment rights and they were met with police misconduct and arrests. The number of the DA's office is 415 553-1752.
I am sure that if you call the legal office at 415 285-1011 you can also find out about how to donate to support their efforts.
