Plans are in the works to bring you some of the finest talent in show business! We expect a crowd in excess of 20,000 to attend this year's festivities giving CFD 2004 the distinction of being the largest gathering of marijuana and hemp supporters in California all year! We are featuring 3 stages of live music and the SPAZ DJs, with hip-hop superstars E-40 & B-Legit, Grammy Award winner Narada Michael Walden, Bay Area royalty MALO will be throwin' down their smash hit record "Suavecito" [Get ready for the Latin explosion!], legendary guitarist Harvey "the Snake" Mandel, rising rap star San Quinn & the Done Deal Family, rap sensation YUKMOUTH will turn on the mad skillz for the Bay, pop sensation El DeBarge, a tribute to Jimi Hendrix featuring guitarist extraordinaire Harold Day and the Nights, Sic Nick Against the Grain of KPOO radio will bless the stage with his consciousness raising rap, the awesome beats of DJ Classic, the Latin Bosses, One 9 Shangrali, Lady Thug, Ben Siegel, OO, H-Nut, and a dynamic performance by Rikki Gordon & friends, The powerful and visual rock band Black Friday will knock your socks off, also get ready for the edgy and sexy rock group Ohm Powah, the Squid Vicious Orchestra, the Keltic Tribe, San Francisco's premier "surf psychedelic band" the Mermen, reggae band Vegitation [from S.D.], folksters Firebug [from LA], Yukmouda, the Noize Boyz, as well as popular guests from previous years' like: the Vikter VZ Xperience, punk rockers Butchered Hens and the tattooed chanteuse Cara Vida. We've partnered up with CaliFresh Music and Entertainment Network Groups to provide a fresh edge to reach out to new people and organizations not previously associated with previous years' events. Our world class video supervising company is MoFo Produkshun. We are also working closely with the California Marijuana Party and Californians for Civil Liberties. The stage manager is Mike Strane of Entertainment Network Groups. Our creative consultant is Bay Area Hip Hop Royalty Bobby McCall, father of Money B of Digital Underground and CEO of Bobby Beats Records. We also planning for dozens of booths, tables and information selling, advising about and serving the public with hemp and hemp-related products. And in five years, we have never charged the public admission and our staff is 100% volunteer led! However, if we are going to organize such a massive event, we need you and not only your cash! In addition to the performers & stage crew, it takes dozens of volunteers working 100s of hours & 1,000 of dollars and to promote & present CFD 2004. We have many bills to pay for, such as: publicity, posters, garbage removal, portable johns, police security, stages, sound systems, etc. We estimate the cost of the event to average $1.25 per guest.
