Iraq War Dead Wall Will Be Commemorated Sunday At
Vietnam Vet Memorial

SACRAMENTO – A graphic, oversized "Iraq War Memorial Wall" will be unveiled here Sunday to commemorate the thousands of lives lost and tens of thousands injured – military and civilian – in the Iraq War.

The ceremony will take place at 12 Noon Sunday at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in the State Capitol Garden.

The wall – which depicts in photos and with personal details Americans who have died in the one-year war – is part of this weekend's demonstrations by hundreds of thousands in the U.S., and millions across the world against the U.S.-led war in Iraq.

The wall is sponsored by Veterans for Peace.

NOTE: There will be a short ceremony, followed by the playing of "Taps."
