EVENTS IN HONOR OF CESAR CHAVEZ

Friday, March 26
9 AM
1,200 students will learn about the life of Cesar Chavez at the Cesar E Chavez Adult Education Center in Fresno. 30 workshops will be held by presenters who had direct contact with Chavez, Farmworkers, or the United Farm Workers. The school is located at 2500 Stanislaus Street in Fresno.

Friday March 26
5 PM
Cesar Chavez celebration - The COCECHA committee will sponsor a vigil at the Peace Garden at CSU Fresno Beginning with la Danza Azteca who will commence with the blessing. speaker and open microphone. Pan dulce y café.

Saturday March 27
9 AM
Cesar Chavez annual march in Fresno - Gathering for the Aztec Blessing, and march will be at the Sal Gonzalez Center located 1431 "G" Street in Fresno (north of Fresno Street, between Toulumne and Stanislaus overpasses parking is located directly across the center.

west of Fresno Street
north on E street
east on Toulumne to the Star Palace corner of Fulton and Toulumne

Teatro TORTILLA, Angelito Noriega, Mujeres VALIENTES, free lunch will be provided to the music of a trio....following the program. This years theme is Continuing Cesar's Work: Youth Rise Up! Madera Coalition for Community Justice will be holding its 10th annual Cesar Chavez Day Celebration at Martin Luther King Middle School (601 Lilly St., Madera). There will be music, speakers, student presentations and skits, Baile Folklorico, information booth and more. The event is free and information can be obtained by calling MCCJ at 661-1879.

Events honoring the life of Cesar Chavez will take place at CSU Fresno. There will be a panel discussion on Mexican and Latino immigration in the Central Valley at CSU Fresno room UC 200 (above Round Table Pizza).

Garlanding ceremony in the Foyer of the of the Chavez Adult Education Center, located at 2500 Stanislaus Street in Fresno.

The legacy of Cesar Chavez - a panel discussion. Special guests include: Gary Soto, Jesie De La Cruz, Sudarshan Kapoor, Alegria De La Cruz, and George Ballis.
