ACTION ALERT – PROTEST THE ILLEGAL DEPORTATION PROCEDURE AGAINST
JEWISH AMERICAN ACTIVIST
[Beit Sahour, West Bank] Kristin (Flo) Razowsky, a Jewish American
activist from Minneapolis, Minnesota, is still being held facing
deportation charges in an Israeli detention center, in Nazareth.
Although Flo was officially arrested in the late afternoon on Sunday
March 14, she has not been formally brought before a judge as her
rights outlined in Israeli law provide. Yesterday evening,
Wednesday March 17, Flo was visited by a judge from the Israeli
Ministry of Interior. Flo's lawyer was not contacted or allowed to
assist her during this or her first conversation with a Ministry of
Interior representative who issued her deportation order. Flo was
never informed that her interactions with the Ministry of Interior
representatives were the official hearings she is entitled to
according to Israeli law.
Flo was arrested on Sunday March 14, 2004 in the village of Deir
Qaddis near Budrus, west of Ramallah while participating in a
nonviolent action to prevent Israeli army bulldozers from continuing
their work on the Apartheid Wall that will completely encircle Deir
Qaddis and eight other villages in an enclave.
Please call the Israeli Ministry of Interior to protest the
illegality of the detention and deportation procedure. Stress that
Flo's lawyer has never been contacted or allowed to assist her
during her two hearings by the Ministry of Interior representatives.
The procedure has not respected the basic rights of the defendant;
the whole case concerning her detention and the deportation order
should be frozen.
Flo needs your support to resist her deportation.
