“Stupidity” hits America
US Premiere in San Francisco

“JACKASS FOR INTELLECTUALS”

Stupidity, an action-packed, comedic feature documentary on the urgent issue of human stupidity, opens in San Francisco March 19th at the Roxie Cinema.
The film recently won “Best Documentary” at the Atlantic City Film Festival and attempts to answer the question of how, when humanity is so advanced, can ignorance and stupidity be so rampant?
The Montreal Gazette said “Stupidity proves to be hysterical” calling it one of the year’s best docs. The Calgary Sun said the film “is one astute piece of filmmaking, as entertaining as it is enlightening.” Montreal’s Le Devoir said, “Stupidity is a bombastic, high energy and comic buffet of weirdness.” Stupidity was the number 1 ticket seller at both the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and the Hot Docs Documentary festival.
Amazingly Stupidity, with a modest budget of $125k, is the first film to deal directly with the issue of human stupidity. Among other topics, the film probes the question of US President Bush’s alleged willful ignorance from both sides of the question.

Stupidity reveals:

Very little is know about human stupidity
The shocking origins of the words “moron”, “imbecile” and “idiot.”
Stupidity is fueled by strong belief systems, and smart people are often the stupidest.
The academic world has studiously avoided the topic of stupidity.
