EVENT
Sunday, March 7, 12- 3pm
International Women's Day Fair: Women as
Peacekeepers
Spend an afternoon of renewal, revolution and
celebration with Bay Area women as we celebrate the
legacy of the early women's peace movement; a
movement that began over 100 years ago when
courageous women in countries worldwide
began actively voicing their need for equal
rights, peace and universal suffrage.
The fair is a call to action for women to continue to
assert ourselves wherever conflict resides and to
support women in conflicted countries
and communities here at home.
The fair will include:
- Exhibitors with art, music, goods, and information
representing women's contributions to peace.
- Speakers from various women's organizations
around the Bay and the world.
- Delegation of six emerging Afghan women leaders
will talk about their progress and strugges for full
participation in their new democracy.
- Opportunities to exchange thoughts, views and vision.
CodePink is a co-sponsor of this event and will have a
table, so come by and say hi!
