CA DESERVES BUSH, THEY ASKED FOR IT

by Albert Kada (davecom [at] io.com)
It will be several more years before any one in California or New York believes it, but Louisiana was the first state government that was dissolved by the GOP (since reconstruction), under the direction of their "strong leader" Ronald Reagan. After Louisiana fell, the GOP eliminated the Constitution, States Rights, and federal elections without much resistance from citizens.
Louisiana (in the mid 20th century) had a notoriously liberal and progressive state government. One governer, Edwin Edwards, who never lost an election in his entire career as a politician, was Reagan's alter ego. Edwards put tax burdens on large petrochemical and oil companies who could easily afford it considering the great wealth they accumulated by harvesting and processing the natural resources of LA.

Edwards also appointed sincere custodians of the environment to the state's own Department of Environmental Quality.

Reagan believed that corporations should govern themselves and were not to be interfered with by liberals and voters.

In the "sophisticated" world of the Northeast, and in the home state of Tim Dibartelo Jr. (who cares if I spelled his name right), most folks have defined Edwin Edwards in their own mind based on 60 minutes propaganda and misleading reports by Hearst Corporation owned newspapers.

Dibartelo, poor little rich boy from San Francisco, former owner of the 49ers, and rat fink, made a deal with the federal government to testify against Edwards, to save himself, who was trying to use his money to buy a casino license in Louisiana.

Dibartelo's family has enough money to live comfortably for about 1000 years. While businessmen in the 90's were boasting that they were making easy money in the stock market, Dibartelo still refused to obey the law and chose to bribe an unregistered lobbyist, Edwards, rather than pursue some more ethical method of applying for a Louisiana casino licence.

The first wave of a GOP takeover is usually in the form of an economic attack. Texas, home state of the Bush family, decided to concede their claim of offshore oil revenues in return for political favors in the form of promises from Reagan that government spending would be funneled toward Texas. The rest of the gulf coast states had to give up their claims for offshore oil revenues because Texas gave up.

Reagan also promised to funnel a lot of money toward California and also protect the west coast from the speculative environmental impact of offshore oil and gas production.

That didn't make or break the state of Louisiana, so then came Brilab and a predictable series of other crimes perpetrated by the Reagan administration.

Edwards exposed Brilab when he was approached by a rather supicious FBI agent who was offering bribes. Edwards refused the bribe. (he told the agents he would not take it, but they could give it to his wife). He then contacted the state police to investigate the bribers, only to find out that they worked for the FBI. The GOP, currently led by Bush, accepts more bribes and dishes out more political favors than any political group in recorded history bar none.

Relentless and frivolous legal attacks on Edwards continued for years.

That, combined with the spoils system, and trickle down economics led to a massive purge of the population of Louisiana. Voting districts were manipulated by federal courts which are still overstuffed with GOP judges who make their wacky decisions based on their prejudices and "family values" rather than anything they learned in law school.

Interestingly enough, Californians and New Yorkers tend to look down their nose at Louisiana and have been convinced that the state's government is a symbol of corruption. This from the states who gave us Ronald Reagan, and Tammany Hall. Oh the hypocrisy.

California got a little taste of their own medicine when the rolling blackouts and energy scams of 2000/2001 created 12 billion dollars of debt for the "best and the brightest". Ironically, computer fraud was a major factor in the scandal. The "best and the brightest" got robbed with their own Micky Mouse computer technology. That is almost as funny as claims by unqualified neo-liberal pundits that a short circuit in Ohio caused the largest power blackout in history. Again, a computer system was the culprit.

The debt is actually a settlement owed California by unregulated energy cartels like Enron who stole more money in one year than the supposedly massive debt that the state owes. Arnold's plan is not to try to recover the stolen funds but to enslave children with this burden.

The GOP relocated most of California's economy to San Diego where the Bush cartel can share the booty with the Vincente Fox cartel.

DOES NEW YORK DESERVE BUSH? Well, I saw Rudolph Gulliani walking the streets of Manhatten after 911, arms outstretched, smiling in triuphant glory and calling on all suckers and cowards to send money in honor of the glorious event. He then fled to Mexico City.

Want more of the same? The Bush cartel's media outlets are convinced that another terrorist attack on the United States will sure up the success of the Bush campaign in 2004.

I agree with these pundits because the citizens of this nation are not intelligent enough for self government. They want a corporate government to protect them and mold their opinions because they have defined freedom as money.
