Dear Sisters and brothers,
On this 50th year anniversary of Brown vs the Board of Education our schools are still separate and unequal.
We are planning a 100 mile march from Downer Elementary to Sacramento.
We are preparing 10 demands that can encompass local, statewide and national issues regarding education.
The planning meeting is this Sunday at 2:00p.m. Joining us will be reps from various unions, NAACP, Tojil, Youth Together and others, please come this Sunday at 2:00p.m.
Some details are here below.....

Take care,
cesar a. cruz

Hi All,

The group to organize our March to Sacramento for Education is this Sunday, March 7th, at 2:00, at the Opportunity West Office in Richmond.
Opportunity West
3720 Barrett Ave.
Richmond, Ca.

Everyone is welcome.
Goals for this meeting include planning a petition drive and letter writing campaign asking the Governor and IBM to forgive the debt. I spoke with Pat Player last night and she will put together the figures of this debt, so we can better understand it.
Cesar Cruz will be organizing the actual March, and we need to learn how we can help him in this effort. Not everyone is expected to walk 100 miles. Many people are unable to do so, and we will need to provide buses for people to go to Sacramento. We want this to be a statewide March, so we need to plan how we will reach out to other districts, and our preschool and college communities. I hope to see you there!
LOVE,
Sarah
