A LIFE MATTERS, THE STORY OF AN ILLEGAL ABORTIONIST
A Life Matters tells the story of Dr. Curtis Boyd, a Pentecostal/Baptist minister who relinquished the pulpit in the 1960s to become a doctor who provided thousands of safe, illegal abortions prior to Roe v. Wade. This film tells the story of Dr. Boyd and a group of compassionate clergymen, who remain dedicated to the idea that all women have the right to a safe abortion.
JENNIFER PARKER, MSW , Exec. Dir. of ACCESS: (ACCESS Hotline & Practical Support Network)
Reproductive choice is not a reality for millions of women in California. Women face all kinds of obstacles to reproductive health care: money, time, distance, lack of childcare, language barriers, bureaucratic indifference, and misinformation...We believe the right to make our own reproductive and sexual decisions is essential to women's full social, economic and political equality. We also believe that reproductive rights are meaningless if you don't know how to get low cost birth control, there is no abortion provider who accepts your insurance, you are afraid to seek prenatal care because of your immigration status, or the closest clinic is hours from your home. Our goal is to bridge the gaps between rights and reality.

REFUSE & RESIST! (Bay Area Chapter)
REFUSE & RESIST! Works to Stop the Repression, Sounding the Alarm, Exposing the Apparatus, Building Support for Resisters, Supporting Key Legal Challenges, Creating and Supporting a Culture of Resistance, a Whole Movement to Oppose the Whole Clampdown.
Since it’s inception in 1987, REFUSE & RESIST! has been on the front lines of the Reproductive Rights Movement including providing support for and physically defending health clinics from the outrageous and dangerous tactics of reactionaries.
