The Women's Building, which is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary this year, presents Women In Politics: Women Leaders Making Change. This event is to celebrate women in elected office in the Bay Area on the eve of the March 2nd 2004 Primary election. Admission is $10 and up, sliding scale.
Congresswoman Barbara Lee will make opening remarks at 6:30, followed by a panel discussion featuring District Attorney Kamala Harris, Fiona Ma, Michela Alioto-Pier and others.
Women In Politics: Women Leaders Making Change is designed to provide a forum for women leaders and office seekers as a way of supporting and honoring women who hold office or seek election. It is also an opportunity for women's political organizations and women activists to network in support of electing more women to office on local, state and national levels.
This year’s event will focus on how our women legislators use their positions to improve our lives, and how women leaders build coalitions and partnerships to promote their political agendas once in office
