A dazzling new 70mm print of the cult classic BARAKA opens at the Castro Theatre for two weeks from Aug. 31-Sept. 12. This timeless, non-narrative film from 1992 must be seen, felt and experienced to be understood. As Ron Fricke, director/cinematographer says, "It's not where you are that's important, it's what's there". A supremely poetic tour of the globe, Mark Magidson and Ron Fricke's 96 minute film was shot in 24 countries on 6 continents.
