Talk and discussion with newly elected Colombian Congressman, Wilson Borja. He is President of the National Federation of State Service Workers, one of the largest trade unions in Colombia. He is also a peace activists who his life threatened and had to go into exile. The killing of trade unionists has increased by over 50% in 2001 and the trend for 2002 shows no sign of improving. Learn what the recent election of President Uribe means for the people of Colombia and trade unionists in particular. (The president has ties to the parmilitaries). What effect will more US funding of the Colombia have on the civilian population?
