Mass March and Rally to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal

Date:
Saturday, May 11, 2002
Time:
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
MOBE
Location Details:
It is going to start at the foot of Market St. in San Francisco at Justin Herman Plaza. This is just across the street from the SF Ferry Bldg.

This is the MOBE's yearly rally to demand that the state free Mumia Abu-Jamal, a political prisoner on death row for the last 20 years. He has served his time for a crime he didn't commit. Mumia's legal battle is a criminal case. That means that you need a verdict of 'beyond a reasonable doubt' to convict or 99% of the evidence shows that shows that the accused is guilty. The new legal team, headed by Eliott Grossman, has produced new evidence that shows less than 'beyond a resonable doubt.' THE NEW EVIDENCE SHOWS THAT RESONABLE DOUBT EXISTS. AND THE STATE DOES NOT WANT TO LISTEN. So, we need you to come out to the foot of Market St. at 11 AM, Justin Herman Plaza, near the Ferry Bldg in San Francisco, to demand that Mumia get a new trial and be freed from the shackles of the oppresor capitalist state. We will mach at 12 Noon down Market. St. to the Civic Center Plaza where a rally with great speakers and entertainment will be held. Come one, come all--demand the right of freedom to all. FREE MUMIA !!! In Solidarity.
