Women and Economic Security

Thursday, March 21, 2002
Time:
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Event Type:
Teach-In

Location Details:
Women's Economic Agenda Project 449 15th Street, 2nd Fl - Oakland (Walking distance from 12th St. BART)

Our social safety net is disappearing. There is an explosion of women and children living on the streets and the 5-year time-limit for welfare is upon us, leaving thousands with not source of income. The health care system is progressively getting worse. Women, no matter how well the economy fares, in what sector they work, and in which state, are still earning a fraction of what men make and are always in the bottom 70%. Join together to discuss action that must take place to create a world that puts people before profit and human dignity at the forefront of our society.
