The Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade will honor the work of Father Roy Bourgeois, founder and co-director of the School of the Americas Watch, during their annual commemoration of the Spanish Republic on Sunday, February 24 at the Calvin Simmons Theatre in Oakland. Bourgeois will speak on "Colombia: A Study in US Terrorism." The SF Mime Troup will perform Spanish and American songs and stories of protest and hope. Surviving veterans of the Brigade will be introduced during the program. The program begins at 2pm. A buffet luncheon with the vets and Bourgeois is at noon. The program is a benefit for the Abraham Lincoln Brigade archives, the School of the Americas Watch, and the Lincoln Brigade Memorial. For ticket information, please call 510-548-3088.
