With voice over narration written by Jamaica Kincaid, adapted from her book "A Small Place," LIFE AND DEBT is an unapologetic look at the "new world order from the point of view of Jamiacan workers, farmers, government and policy officials, who see the reality of globalization from the ground up. LIFE AND DEBT will be showing for a LIMITED ONE WEEK ENGAGEMENT, JANUARY 18-24 at the Lumiere Theater in San Francisco and the Shattuck IV Cinema in Berkeley. LIFE AND DEBT BENEFIT CONCERT 9PM, January 18th, 2002 Studio Z 11th and Folsom, San Francisco This benefit concert will feature some of Jamaica’s finest reggae performers- Yami Bolo - singing sweet songs of freedom and love, Mutabaruka - with his spoken word / dub poetry and Lutan Fiyah - blazing lyrics. Black Love DJ - Bravo (originally from Irie FM in Jamaica) will be selecting the early warm up mix to satisfy your soul when the Doors Open. Drumming circle with the Nyahbinghi Drummers ( feel free to bring your drums). Jamaican food and crafts vendors will be selling their goods and delicious foods.
