San Jose

You are invited to attend the next Rachel Corrie Banner Project Demonstration, the eighth such demonstration thus far organized by Americans for Justice in Palestine-Israel.
We gather at various prominent locations every month in honor of Rachel Corrie’s sacrifice for the cause of justice for the Palestinians and calling for an end to US support of the racist, apartheid state of Israel as the first step to achieving world peace.

This one will be held on Jan. 16th, 2004, in front of Representative Zoe Lofgren’s office in San Jose, between 12:00 to 1:30 pm.
The address is 635 N. First Street at the intersection with George Street in San Jose, California.

Past Rachel Corrie Banner Project Demonstrations have been held in front of the following politicians’ offices: Pelosi, Lantos, Feinstein, Lee ( who although we support her generally, unfortunately sent Ariel Sharon, the Butcher of Beirut, her congratulations each time he was elected!), Boxer, and twice we’ve had demos in Union Square targetting the American consumer to raise their awareness of the boycotting campaign against Israel and Israel-supporting businesses, such as Victoria’s Secret, The Gap, and Estee Lauder, to name just a few. More info at http://www.boycottisraeligoods.org.

Information on past demos can be viewed at http://www.distanceeddesign.com/rachel/ where you can scroll down to read a special section just about us. There is plenty of information about our heroine, Rachel Corrie, the brave 23-year old peace activist, who was deliberately murdered by an Israeli soldier with a Caterpillar bulldozer as she stood defending a Palestinian home from being demolished. The cowardly soldier who killed her has never been prosecuted nor even publicly named. We demand justice for Rachel Corrie and for all the Palestinian people who deserve to have justice, security and equal rights in their own ancestral homeland of Palestine-Israel. An excellent documentary about what was going on in Palestine-Israel, especially in Rafah, the Gaza Strip, when peace activists Rachel Corrie and Tom Hurndall of the International Solidarity Movement (http://www.palsolidarity.org) and British film-maker James Millder were killed by the Israeli army, including shocking footage of the Israeli army even harassing the mourners at the funeral with bulldozers and tear gas, as well as scenes of bloody violence not for the weak of stomach, is now available called “Dispatches: The Killing Zone” from http://www.ameu.org. The film confirms Israel’s getting away with murder with impunity, not only of peace activists but of Palestinians, including schoolchildren just sitting at their desks.
