LMNOP Weekly Peace Walk at Lake Merritt in Oakland

Date:
Sunday, December 30, 2001
Time:
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Beth Wagner
Location Details:
Starts & ends at the colonade at the northeast end of Lake Merritt, between Grand & Lakeshore Avenues. Near the Grand Avenue offramp from 580 freeway. Near Grand Lake Theater.

Lake Merritt is a saltwater lake that connects to the Estuary & then the Bay & on to the Pacific Ocean. Hence, it is affected by the tides. It is also the 1st wildlife refuge in the United States, still a protected bird refuge. Enjoy a walk with likeminded people around beautiful Lake Merritt while showing your opposition to this horrible war. Bring peace signs if you have them. Come even if you don't -- there are often extras.
