The San Francisco Commission and Department on the Status of Women, the Youth Commission and Supervisors Fiona Ma and Sophia Maxwell are holding a public hearing on the the recently released report, “A Report on Girls in San Francisco: Benchmarks for the Future" report and its findings on Wednesday, October 29th, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in City Hall, Room 250. The focus of the hearing is to define benchmarks for girls in the areas of health, education, poverty, violence and juvenile justice and to highlight both current best practices in areas where the report indicates girls appear to be doing well and to solicit suggestions for effective programs in areas were girls appear to have unfulfilled needs.
