"The Farm" documents the fate of six inmates at Angola prison, the largest maximum-security prison in the U.S., housing some 5,000 men, three-quarters of them Black and 85 percent of whom will die within its walls. The 18,000-acre penitentiary sits on the site of a plantation that derived its name from the area in Africa that provided the slave labor. (1998) This event is part of the ongoing International ANSWER Film Series. The screening will include discussion by a representative of the National Committee to Free the Angola 3, who recently returned from visiting with the lawyers of the political prisoners held at Angola Prison. $5 admission.
