Melody Ermachild Chavis will read from the first-ever biography of MEENA, HEROINE OF AFGHANISTAN, THE MARTYR WHO FOUNDED RAWA, THE REVOLUTIONARY ASSOCIATION OF THE WOMEN OF AFGHANISTAN on Thursday, October 9th, 6:00 PM, at MODERN TIMES, 888 Valencia St, San Francisco.
Meena founded RAWA in 1977 as a 20-year-old Kabul University student. She was assassinated in 1987 at age 30. Her voice, speaking for democracy and human rights, has never been silenced. All author's proceeds from the book will be donated to RAWA's medical and educational projects.
