Want to hit the streets, shut down the multinationals, make sure that folks know what you and your peoples are up against? Gotta pay the bills, feed your kids, get to work? This workshop is for you. Together, we will find ways to balance the day to day with that nagging desire to do something about what exactly is up with all this Arnold, Dubya, can’t seem to get an up from the downs sort of thing. Come prepared to write, share, and figure out how to remain active, even if you have to juggle elephants on the head of a pin to so much as write a letter.
When: October 11th, 1 – 5 PM
Where: email for details
How much: $10-25 sliding scale
Who are you, anyway? Spoken word artist/author/activist solidad decosta is a mixed race queer woman of black latina maternal ancestry. She has worked on numerous causes, takeovers, shit-disturbances and other ripples in the pond of manifest social order, and hopes to be there someday when that ripple becomes, well, something much bigger. She still wants to overthrow her grade school cafeteria, and dares anybody to tell her why she should have just behaved instead.
