you are invited to experience the news live on stage... "PEAKTIMES: Sensualizing Today's News" Experimental music/ improvisational dance theater based on latest news stories Tickets: $5-10 sliding donation Completely improvised and based on today’s news, Peaktimes is the 60 Minutes of experimental theater. Four chance-dependent players take a subtextual slide into darker emotional terrain, interpreting random and audience-selected news articles from the SF Chronicle. Phantom strings, B-movie electronics, and singing and dancing anchorwomen will be accompanied by a video projection of today’s televised news (the two-dimensional images provide possibility for deeper interplay). Peaktimes is an ongoing live news theater project; each show is a different entity exploring timely fact, fiction, and truth lying in the middle. FEATURING: Laurie Buenafe (dance, spoken word) Ava Chante de l’Esprit (cello, vocals) Morgan Guberman (contrabass) Zeppi (theremin, shortwave radio)
