A local Iranian activist and a producer with KPFA’s Voices from the Middle East and North Africa weekly radio program was fired from his position with the City of Oakland in December 2002 as a result of an unfair and discriminatory labor practice. He is a member of IFPTE Local 21. He had been working as an engineer for the City of Oakland for nearly 11 years. Your support in helping him be reinstated and in ensuring that the City will not be able to unfairly fire employees is appreciated. To voice your opposition to the City’s unfair practices, please contact:
1. Mayor Jerry Brown: (510)238-3141, officeofthemayor@oaklandnet.com
2. Robert Bobb, City Manager: (510)238-3301, rbobb@oaklandnet.com
3. Calvin Wong, Director of Building Services: (510)238 -4794, cwong@oaklandnet.com
