Kevin Epps and the crew organizing the Hip Hop Film Fest, is featuring an updated slate of unique indie flix celebrating Hip Hop and it's cultural impact. They are coming through the SF Bay Area twice this summer...including 3 days next week June 23-25 at the Roxie Cinema in S.F The event will be a fundraiser for the financially strapped local organization operated by the late "Aunt Bea" Midleton. The Hunters Point Community Youth Park Foundation, has been an institution many poor urban youth rely upon for recreational opportunities, and even meals. Kevin Epps of the award winning doc "Straight Outta Hunters Point", was deeply affected by the loss of Aunt Bea and hopes to raise funds to continue her vital programs. Kevin will be offereing signed S.O.H.P DVDs and a three day all film fest pass to any one who makes a $50 donation online. See a wondrous cinematic journey that shows there is no embargo on love...includes a great havana freestyle scene, tropical scenery, rarely seen religious rituals and more... Tues 6/24 8:00 p.m "Open Transport "- "Keepintime" a double feature with two flix that encompass a range of Hip Hop flavas. The latest from Quebec, Nashville, L.A, VA, Philly, Atlanta, Flatbush are all represented as well as the ol' school. 6/24 at 9:30 p.m "The World Famous” & “what's up fat lip?” another Tuesday night double feature, one flick on Hip Hop's premiere DJ' s Sway & King Tech plus a special look at former Pharcyde MC, Fat-Lip, recounting his personal Hip Hop history. the HHFF crew as more events and fundraisers that they'll be part of this year. stay updated by joining our regular mailing list at our wbsite A similar event will occur in Oakland July 14-17 at The Black Box.
