Ford Dealership at Market and Dolores
Our addiction to oil is deadly. It contributes to rainforest destruction, human rights abuses, the loss of good-paying union jobs, and childhood asthma. And of course our oil addiction is also largely responsible for the senseless war in the Iraq: If broccoli were the number one export from the Middle East, we never would have invaded Iraq.
To have a safe planet, a secure nation and a strong economy, we need to kick the petroleum habit. That means limiting our demand for oil. The best way to do that is to dramatically increase the fuel efficiency of our vehicles, which consume 40 percent of all the oil we use.
It's time to take the slogan "No Blood for Oil" straight to Detroit. This June Ford Motor Company is going to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Ford likes to think of itself as a innovator. But in fact this is a dinosaur company that produces primitive, gas-guzzling vehicles. Many Ford vehicles on the road today get fewer miles per gallon than did the Model-T 80 years ago!
Help us break the oil addiction. Demand that Ford clean up its cars.
