Documentary Screening - "Palestine is Still the Issue" "Palestine is Still the Issue" (2002; 53 min.) is a documentary by award-winning journalist John Pilger about "why the Palestinians, whose right of return was affirmed by the United Nations more than half a century ago, are still caught in a terrible limbo -- refugees in their own land, controlled by Israel in the longest military occupation in modern times." The documentary was bitterly attacked by Israel's supporters in Britain after it was screened on public television; Pilger and the documentary, however, were vindicated by the UK's Independent Television Commission, which found that "Palestine is Still the Issue" presented the situation in Palestine with "due impartiality". Preceded by short discussion. April 29 on the UC Berkeley campus, 100 Wheeler Hall, at 7 PM. Sponsored by Students for Justice in Palestine.
