Sundance Award-winning, Guerrilla News Network (GNN), will be showing their new investigative documentary, "AfterMath: Unanswered Questions from 9/11", followed by a panel discussion featuring Michael Ruppert, who has lectured extensively on the subject, and others. GNN says, "With the ongoing confusion over who should lead the federal probe into the September 11 terrorist attacks, we decided to pre-empt the government and produce our own version of a Œtruth commission.¹" Narrated by Hip Hop legend Paris and featuring interviews shot by GNN syndicate producers in six cities, AfterMath features nine people answering eleven of the most pressing questions that emanate from the terrible and, as yet, unexplained, events of that day. GNN says that these are questions that continue to overshadow and critically challenge the official version of the story.
Some people featured in the documentary include:
€Michael Ruppert--Publisher, "From the Wilderness"
http://www.deceptiondollar.com/Aftermath.htm
€Nafeez Ahmed--Author, "The War on Freedom"
€David McMichael--Former CIA analyst
€Michel Chossudovsky--Author: "War and Globalization"
€Peter Dale Scott--Author: "Drugs, Oil, and War: The United States in Afghanistan, Colombia, and Indochina"
€Riva Enteen--Executive Director, National Lawyer¹s Guild
Some of the key questions about 9/11 raised in the film:
€What did the Bush Administration know and when?
€Why wasn¹t the US military able to intercept the hijacked planes?
€How did the administration respond to the failures of the military and Intelligence agencies on 9/11?
€What ties, if any, did the US government and Intelligence agencies have with the terrorists or their supporters?
€Were there plans for a war in central Asia prior to September 11?
€Is there any historical evidence to suggest that the government may have used the 9/11 attacks to justify its war in Central Asia?
€How has the government¹s reaction to the terrorist attacks affected the rule of law in the United States?
€How has recent legislation like the PATRIOT ACT and the Homeland Security bill affected the lives of American people?
€What can we do?
Panelists appearing at The Herbst and Spangenberg:
€Mike Ruppert who has lectured extensively on 9/11. He is currently finishing a book on the topic entitled "Crossing the Rubicon."
€Peter Dale Scott whose latest work "Drugs, Oil, and War: The United States in Afghanistan, Colombia, and Indochina" was published on March 28th.
€National Lawyers Guild President, Riva Enteen, who has been on the forefront defending the attacks on civil rights in this country.
€Richard Heinberg, author of "The Party¹s Over: Oil, War and the Fate of Industrial Societies" .
€Moderated by Canadian journalist and media critic Barrie Zwicker whose pathbreaking documentary "The Great Deception" raises some of the same questions.
Event organizer and Palo Alto activist, Carol Brouillet says, "None of these are questions addressed by the official inquiry, and the official whitewash Commission in Washington DC. 9/11 has been used by the Bush Administration to justify its wars throughout the world, and its attack upon the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. AfterMath and the screenings are designed to create a public space for serious questioning of the official narrative of 9/11."
At 5:30pm at both locations, there will be a reception preceding the 7:30pm screening. Public dialogue and press questions will follow.
Mike Ruppert bio:
Mike Ruppert, 51, is the Publisher/Editor of From the Wilderness (FTW), a newsletter he founded in March 1998 by mailing out 68 copies to friends and researchers. FTW is now read by more than 4,000 subscribers in 32 countries including 20 members of the US Congress and professors at 15 universities in the US and Canada. Through the newsletter and his web site at http://www.copvcia.com , Mike has pioneered innovative analysis and groundbreaking original stories on the impact of $5-600 billion per year in drug money moving through the US economy and the illegal covert operations which maintain control of that cash flow for US economic interests.
An Honors graduate of UCLA in Political Science (1973), Mike is a former LAPD narcotics investigator who discovered CIA trafficking in drugs in 1977. After attempting to expose this he was forced out of LAPD in 1978 while earning the highest rating reports possible and having no pending disciplinary actions. In 1996, after 18 years of struggle, he finally achieved one of his deepest wishes in a face-to-face public encounter with then CIA Director John Deutch on national TV. Washington sources later told Mike that Deutch¹s mishandling of the encounter cost him a guaranteed appointment as Secretary of Defense.
Mike's stories, which have expanded to include economic analysis and detailed exposes of the CIA and the American political system, have been reprinted in 12 countries. Now a popular lecturer on the college circuit, Mike was booked on a post 9/11 lecture series through the summer of 2002. Since November 2001, he has given 21 lectures on "The Truth & Lies of 9/11" in three countries. He is a regular guest on talk radio shows at major stations throughout the country.
In the wake of the September 11th attacks Mike was among the first to be publicly critical of a number of transparent flaws in the official story presented by the US government. In more than sixty stories since 9/11 he has followed his tested strategy of using only government documents, official statements or verifiable press reports as the basis for his work. As a result he has been openly received by several members of Congress and maintains open lines of communication with congressional and committee staffs.
