In their new book, Reese Erlich and co-author Norman Solomon explore the realities underlying the arguments for and against the invasion of Iraq and examine ways the U.S. media have helped market an unprecedented war. In his talk on April 30th, Erlich will illuminate the history of U.S.-Iraq relations, dissect the tacit collusion between the Bush administration and the media, and discuss strategies for dealing with and counteracting media spin at the grassroots level. Erlich is an award-winning foreign correspondent and producer for National Public Radio, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, The World, and Common Ground Radio, among others. Part of a new lecture series, "Operation Information Freedom." Cost: $7-$15 Sliding Scale (No one turned away for lack of funds) Benefits Peninsula Peace and Justice Center.
