REAL DIRECT ACTION. STOP THE MILITARY SHIPMENTS WHERE THEY START! JOIN IN PROTESTING SHIPMENTS OF WEAPONS FROM THE CONCORD NAVAL WEAPONS STATION Monday, April 7th (National Day of Action), 7-9 AM A resident of the tiny community of Clyde, CA, a suburb of Concord which is nestled between the Naval Weapons station and the Delta, has been witnessing over the last few days and nights the military transport, (by about 50 civilian semi-trucks), of ammunition. Each truck comes out of the weapons station with one large metal crate with the only words on it: EXPLOSIVES. The trucks must exit one side of the weapons station, cross Port Chicago Highway, (a public road,) then enter on the other side of the road to continue on military land to the port. Reinforcments are needed to help block the public road, and stop the delivery of these weapons. At the least we need to establish a presence to register our protest that these weapons are being transported, in our name, to kill Iraqis. Join this neighbor of the Weapons Station and make the voice of the community heard! NO WEAPONS SHOULD BE SENT TO USE AGAINST THE PEOPLE OF IRAQ! NOT IN OUR NAME! Bring signs, banners, etc. CNWS has a history of deploying weapons and there is also a rich history of protests at the site. Peace activist, Brian Wilson, protesting weapons shipments to El Salvador, was run over by a train and lost his legs in the 1980s.
