"REMEMBER WACO." a multimedia installation by Megan Shaw Prelinger will be on display at Artists Television Access gallery (http://www.atasite.org) throughout the month of April, 2003. Featuring custom neon artwork and two television monitors, this installation jolts viewers into remembering and reconsidering the siege of the Branch Davidian community in 1993 in the context of the current wartime compromises imposed on our civil society. A scrolling timeline of highlights in the militarization of the public sphere from 1787 to 2003 is juxtaposed with dramatic action footage of U.S. Army Bradley tanks. Hanging above, brilliant neon intones passers-by to "Remember Waco." PLEASE JOIN US in celebrating the opening of this bright window of political art on the evening of April 3, 7 - 9 p.m. at ATA: 992 Valencia Street, San Francisco, at 21st Street. Drinks and snacks served. If you are not free for the party April 3, please drop by ATA any time, day or night, between April 1 and April 28 to view the installation.
