Location Details:
Everywhere people gather

Candlelight vigils listed below are the ones within 5 miles of the Mission District. Go to www.globalvigil.org for the one closest to you. Problems? Questions? First: Read the F.A.Q. Then: email vigil@moveon.org  Candlelight vigils in your area The list below shows all the vigils that others in your area have already scheduled. Select the vigil you'd like to attend. Bring as many friends as you can. Please encourage them to sign up on this site, but it's not required. To schedule a new vigil in your area click here. Check the vigil you want to attend below, and then click the "Select Vigil " button. All vigils take place Sunday, March 16 -- 7:00 PM (19:00) Sort by: distance | size | city Select Vigil [Note: Counts only include participants who have signed up on the Web site. Actual attendance at most vigils will be greater than the numbers below.] Dolores Park (259 registered participants/coordinators) On the Corner of 18th & Dolores San Francisco, CA Meet in the palm grove above the playground at 6:30pm--let's light up the hill and send a beacon of hope across the city and the world. Come one come all--human and canine alike. Sunday, March 16, 07:00 PM     Union Square (109 registered participants/coordinators) Downtown San Francisco San Francisco, CA I'd like to suggest that instead of doing a bunch of small vigils around the city that we pool our efforts and all meet at Union Square. It will be much more impressive (and newsworthy) if we have one giant crowd rather than many small vigils. Union Square has a large area for meeting, it's extremely visible and picturesque (for the media), and it's easy to get to on public transportation. I'll create small flyers with info about the vigil for handing out at the march on Saturday. If enough people are interested, we can coordinate a leafletting effort for the same evening, either before or after the vigil. I'll send a final email with all the details about where to meet and what to bring on Friday afternoon. Peace, Chris. Sunday, March 16, 07:00 PM     Harvey Milk Plaza (88 registered participants/coordinators) Intersection of Castro & Market Streets San Francisco, CA Bring extra candles, friends and help make the Castro a place for World Peace Sunday, March 16, 07:00 PM     Tank Hill (75 registered participants/coordinators) Twin Peaks Blvd. San Francisco, CA Take Ashbury to top of the hill, make right on Twin Peaks Blvd.; park on the right before first house on right; walk up staircase to top flat part with great view of entire city - formerly held a large city water tank - public property with an intimate feel. Sunday, March 16, 07:00 PM     Union Square (70 registered participants/coordinators) Downtown San Francisco San Francisco, CA IF YOU ARE COMING TO UNION SQUARE, PLEASE SIGN UP HERE AND NOT ABOVE. THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE EMAIL ENTERED IN THE ORIGINAL FORM AND I AM CURRENTLY UNABLE TO EMAIL ANYONE WHO HAS SIGNED UP (ALL 88 OF YOU). WE ARE STILL HAVING THE VIGIL AND IF YOU SIGN UP HERE I WILL BE ABLE TO CONTACT YOU. IF YOU'VE ALREADY SIGNED UP FOR THE ORIGINAL LISTING PLEASE SIGN UP AGAIN HERE, SO I CAN CONTACT YOU WITH DETAILS. THANKS AND SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION, CHRIS I'd like to suggest that instead of doing a bunch of small vigils around the city that we pool our efforts and all meet at Union Square.
