They strive to connect the music of struggle and tradition, creating the new generation of the culture of resistance. Samsara\'s repertoire ranges from old folksongs and spirituals with new arrangements, to satirical parodies and original music on current topics, all with tight, searing, dissonant and bittersweet harmonies. Samsara@riseup.net Danielle DeGruttola & Roberto Morales Manzanares Duo Roberto Moreles Manzanares has been commissioned and participated in festivals in the US, Europe, Mexico, and Latin America, including the Festival International Cervantion, ICMC, and CIM. He was co-founder of the first computer music studio in Mexico in 1998 (Escuela Superior de Musicaan d), and the founder of LIM at the University of Guanajuato in 1992. He has organized festivals including \"La Computadora y la Musica\", \"Callejon del Ruido\", and \"Nuevos enfoques y expresiones en composición y tecnología.\" Danielle DeGruttola, cellist extraordinaire, has performed with other outstanding musicians including Cecil Taylor, Henry Kaiser, Paul Plimley, John Oswald, Buckethead, Lukas Ligeti, and Miya Masaoka. Her sublime sound is adventuresome and exploratory yet maintains concrete form. \"Her contributions are uniformly excellent.\" (Exclaim magazine). www.cs.berkeley.edu/~hodes/danisue/ ERICA BALLINGER Singer/songwriter Erica Ballinger has long touched West Coast audiences with her unique blend of rock, soul and jazz inspired music. Honored by the Northern California Songwriters Association for best song and best performer (1999 and 2000), her music is also featured on \'Rose Street Raw,\' a benefit CD for KPFA community radio and the Rose Street House of Music in Berkeley.
