SAMSARA
Samsara is an a capella women's trio who unite passionate struggles for justice with extraordinary vocal music. They strive to connect the music of struggle and tradition, creating the new generation of the culture of resistance. Samsara's repertoire ranges from old folksongs and spirituals with new arrangements, to satirical parodies and original music on current topics, all with tight, searing, dissonant and bittersweet harmonies.

ERICA BALLINGER
Singer/songwriter Erica Ballinger has long
touched West Coast audiences with
her unique blend of rock, soul and jazz inspired
music. Honored by the
Northern California Songwriters Association for
best song and best performer
(1999 and 2000), her music is also featured on
'Rose Street Raw,' a benefit
CD for KPFA community radio and the Rose Street
House of Music in Berkeley.
Erica is a contributing artist in 'The Ultimate
Song,' a recently released
documentary about music and social change.

DIFFERENT STROKES
featuring Yehudit, five-string violin, and Beth Snellings, cello.Two classically trained and jazz-savvy string players stretch the bounds of their instruments to create a unique approach to jazz standards and more.
Jazz violinist Yehudit is a tenured member of the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, she performed for two years with the jazz/blues band John Handy with Class, and has appeared with Denise Perrier, Jules Broussard, Dan Hicks, Martin Fierro, Zeena Quinn and Sweet 'N' Sour Swing, and the Gerry Grosz Jazz Kitchen. Beth Snellings, cellist, is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and of the University of Arizona. Her teachers include Bonnie Hampton and Mark Summer (of the Turtle Island String Quartet).

D'YARA
The female a'capella ensemble, D'yara, or 'daughters of the sun' in the Slavic language, brings together the rich musical traditions of Eastern Europe, West Africa and beyond. D'yara' endeavors to propagate the musical traditions of women and cultures throughout the world, whose empowerment, wisdom and creativity is translated into song. The women of D'yara raise their voices in harmony with the voices of women in all corners of the globe as we strive to break through the constraints of our heritage and revel in the power of the creative Spirit.
