If the War on Iraq Escalates - We Must Be Ready!
It is imperative that we are prepared for a unified and extremely powerful response to war. Bring your friends, family, and co-workers to this nonviolence training so we may collaborate together, learn from one another, and unite our energies to stop war on Iraq! Hundreds of Bay Area residents are preparing to participate in a mass nonviolent direct the first day of business after the war starts. Prepare yourself to join them by attending the following trainings:
**Nonviolent Direct Action Training:
Sunday, February 9th, Noon –5 pm
-UC Berkeley 128 Barrows Hall (1 block East of Telegraph)
Nonviolence civil disobedience is a tactic that has been used by such peace and justice leaders as Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. Hundreds of people have already participated in civil disobedience to try to stop a U.S. attack on Iraq. Learn important skills and tactics to participate in direct action and help stop this war. (This will be a joint direct action training with the medical marijuana movement)
**Blockades Training:
Sunday, February 9th, Noon –5 pm
-2000 Myrtle St, Oakland (near 19th & Market)
Learn nonviolent blockade tactics that will help you to use your body and other tools as effective and safe ways to occupy space and deliver an anti-war message.
