DON'T LET THE PROTEST STOP ON JANUARY 18TH!! (aka "Get Sunny Out Of Jail!") This past November, 86 people were arrested at Ft. Benning in Colombus, GA, while protesting the School of the Assassins (aka WHISC). Nine of these people are from the Bay Area, and encompass students, teachers, artists, and community organizers. On January 27th, they will go to trial in Colombus for the misdeamor crime of non-violently trespassing on federal property and face up to SIX MONTHS in federal prison. So far, only one person in the history of the movement has been acquitted. Please see: http://www.soaw.org/new/article.php?id=540 Come out to local community activist and SFLR dj Sunny Angulo's pad on the 18th of January, after the massive anti-war protest to help fundraise for the cause. Join bands TWO GALLANTS FOLIE A DEUX GILDING THE LILY FULL MOON PARTISANS CONVALESCENT SURPRISE and more... for a night of revelry in support of the cause! Also, we will have a letter-writing table set up so that people can write the judge and their congressperson in support of the defendents. Also, bring a pen so that you can write a goodbye message to Sunny on her furniture! Liquor and booze are always appreciated, but money for jail is appreciated even more! (Or wait... is it?) We'll also have some footage from the protests, so don't miss this! We are asking for a $5 "admission" donation at the door - this is a FUNDRAISER to raise money for the Prisoner of Conscience Fund, so please try and give what you can!! Many people are the sole providers for their families, and while in jail will leave their families without any form support to pay the bills. Please help! First band goes on at 8:00pm. REALLY REALLY HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!! FORWARD TO FRIENDS AND BRING EVEN MORE!!!! (And tell them to bring some!)
