The Green Party of Alameda County invites you to our 2002 Campaign Kickoff and Volunteer Orientation.
When: Sunday September 22, 2002 - 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm
Where: The community meeting room on the 3rd floor of the Berkeley Public Library, 2090 Kittredge St. at the corner of Shattuck Ave - two blocks south of the Berkeley BART Station.
Come meet other local Greens, enjoy refreshments, and get ready for action.
Patricia St.Onge, director of the National Community Development Institute, will be our Master of Ceremonies. You will get to meet local and state candidates including Dona Spring, running for Berkeley City Council, Larry Shoup, running for Secretary of State and Laura Wells, running for State Controller. Local activists will review important local ballot issues and campaigns that the Green Party supports.
Come to our gathering to share what you know and learn what you don't.
We'll demonstrate how to:
- Register voters
- Promote our candidates
- Table
- Answer those hard questions
Get your daily exercise and practice your precinct skills. Berkeley Greens will walk a nearby precinct in Green Berkeley City Councilmember Dona Spring's district. Oakland Greens will walk several precincts in North Oakland on behalf of Just Cause Oakland and our statewide slate of candidates. We don't just talk, we walk!
Interested in working with our media working group or on our newsletter? Are you an artist who would like to get together with other artists to talk about how you can help out with the Green campaigns?
All this and more!
Please let us know if you're coming by replying to this email. If you cannot attend, but want to volunteer, call the Green Party of Alameda County office in Berkeley at (510) 644-2293.
See you on the 22nd!
