Coca-cola infiltrates Zapatista community
Coca-cola corporation kills union activists in Columbia and targets low-income schools, increasing rates of diabetes among children from refined sugar/high fructose corn syrup
Coca-cola products (and Pepsi) effect young (and old) people by flooding their blood with refined sugar in the form of high fructose corn syrup. Natural fruit sugars are not refined and take longer 4 the body to break down, resulting in a gradual insulin increase. This sudden rush of already broken down sugars causes the insulin levels to spike, causing an addictive downward spiral of highs and lows, leading to hypo/hyperglycemia and/or diabetes..
Coca-cola and the Columbian government are responsible for the assassination of eight trade union workers in Columbia. Coca-cola (and Papsi) is also infiltrating the Zapatista community in Chiapas. We are told by neo-liberal media that the Zapatistas are engaging in voluntary capitalism, yet we question whether the Zapatistas are aware of the health risks from drinking the refined sugar product. There is also the question of water rights, if Coca-cola attempts to claim ownership of their water, does this allow them into the Zapatista autonomous zone?
When the California Co-op in Arcata continues to shelve Coca-cola products despite numerous customer protests, there is an obvious problem that is not being addressed. For Coca-cola to have that much influence over a supposed "organic" health food shop, something is wrong with the picture. We question the incentives given by Coca-cola to carry their merchendise, is there bribery similar to the underfunded public schools (textbook money 4 military warplanes) getting grants from Coca-cola in exchange 4 a contracted vending machine selling cans of future diabetes 2 the youth of 2day?
We ask the Arcata Co-op 2 discontinue selling Coca-cola products, and any other so-called health food shop 2 follow this pattern. Also, purchasing Coca-cola supports a corporation of genocidal goons who kill union activists and sell addictive refined sugar products to the youth of the world. Diabetes is preventable, stop drinking Coca-cola/Pepsi/etc..

In 1995 in the community of la garucha, now know as Francisco Gomez, one of the aguascalientes back then, a inidividual was found to have Coca Cola. It was a debate amongst that community as to how a individual came into possession of Coke. He was heavily scrutinized and a close eye was kept on him. What happened after then ten days I spent in the village is unknow to me. What was believed to occur, was the mexican military adjacent to the village was using the Coke a cola to bribe this young man for information on the Zapatista postions or other military intelligence.
Unfortionately, some of the woman back then were so malnurished, that their month old babies were being fed cocoa cola instead of being given breastmilk. The woman where lacking basic substance needed to provide breast milk.
