ANNOUNCEMENT

SECOND MEETING OF LATIN AMERICAN SOCIAL AND INDIGENOUS ORGANISATIONS AND OF AUTONOMOUS POPULAR RESISTENCE
February 5,6,7 and 8, 2004

The popular autonomous movements of Bolivia and Latin America will convene the SECOND MEETING OF LATIN AMERICAN SOCIAL and INDIGENOUS ORGANISATIONS AND OF AUTONOMOUS POPULAR RESISTANCE in Bolivia.

THE CONTEXT

During the third World Social Forum in Porto Alegre of January last year, the social movements organised the first LATIN AMERICAN MEETING OF POPULAR AND AUTONOMOUS ORGANISTATIONS where experiences were shared and areas of solidarity were outlined between the peoples and organisations who are struggling against Neoliberal Capitalist Globalisation, the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas, Plan Puebla-Panama, Plan Colombia, Plan Bolivia and Yankee American Imperalism.

THE OBJECTIVES

The meeting is a space to share and discuss experiences of the struggles of different autonomous social organisations that are independent of policital parties, and institutionalised NGOs. The meeting is also a space for coordination and mutual support.

PLACE AND DATE

The meeting will happen in the city of Cochabamba from the 5th to the 8th of February, 2004 in the Complejo Fabril (Av. Melchor Pérez and parque Ex. Combatiente).

 World Trade Organisation, Free Trade Agreement of the Americas and Imperalist Plans
 Environment
 Coca and Indigenous Culture
 Youth and Revolution
 The War for Water and the War for Gas in Bolivia
 Networks: Indymedia and alternative methods of communication
 Others
