Save The Date : February 1 Activist Parents Organizing Meeting

A small group of East Bay parents has been meeting with the idea of setting up a Family Activist Resource Center--a drop-in center where parents and caregivers can come with their children and do their political work while their children are cared for in ways that honor the
unique and creative individuals they are and, where possible, engage them in age-appropriate political activism and education.

Parents could use the center to have meetings, do political art and theatre, internet research, write letters and action alerts, help with mailings, phone banking and other tasks that need to be done by progressive groups, etc. The idea is for the Center to serve the needs of each family, from self-directed veteran activists to those who are newly active and want a place to network and learn.

We would love to have you work with us to make this Center a reality.
Please come to our first planning meeting on February 1, from 10 am to noon. Free child care and breakfast will be provided. Location TBA (somewhere in Berkeley or Oakland). Please RSVP by January 20 to (or request more info from) Erica at ericadavid [at] earthlink.net. Be sure to state the names of all adults and children who will be coming and the ages of the children (so we can be sure to have enough caregivers).
