Calpine's alternative is transporting compressed natural gas (CNG or LNG) from Bolivia (?remember the campesino strike, it was against natural gas extraction by Pacific Natural Gas consortium, (really BP)) and other places and need a place to store it. Calpine chose Humboldt Bay and promises jobs 4 everyone. Reality is after Humboldt Bay is dredged of native eelgrass habitat, the only jobs will be given 2 a select few specialists, most not from the local area..

Compressed natural gas is highly flammable and explosive, did Calpine forget we live in a seismically active area?

How long can Calpine make money before the future earthquake/tsunami and following explosion after the tanker is ruptured and ignition sparked?

Does Calpine's risk assessment analysis team compute the loss of human life, tissue damage from first, second third degree burns, reconstructive skin surgery as acceptable in the face of their profits from selling CNG?

Medicine Lake is another example of Calpine's deceitful business interactions. Medicine Lake caldera is sacred to many tribes in NorCal, the Pit River, Wintu, Shasta and others rely on Medicine Lake for healing qualities. Calpine's plans to drill 4 geothermal would bring hydrogen sulfide up from below ground and contaminate Medicine Lake. Once the chemistry of Medicine Lake has been altered by hydrogen sulfide, it will no longer be a healing lake, only a toxic waste dump..

Calpine promises 2 be environmentally responsible, but based on their interactions with Medicine Lake and the community there, this is doubtful. Bribery was attempted by this corporation well financed with leftover petroleum money. This same deceit is occurring here in Humboldt Bay..
