Tuesday January 6: The Hyena Comedy Institute Sketch Comedy
class is a six session workshop that covers
the basics of sketch comedy from conception to
performance. Expect a lot of laughs as we learn by
doing, covering such subjects as finding your
comedy voice and point of view, writing alone
and with others, editing, characters, structure,
basic stage craft, using improv in sketch
writing, and putting together your own sketch group.
Get those great crazy sketch ideas out of your
head and onto the stage! This class culminates in
a show written and performed by the students.
Instructor Nick Leonard is a stand up comic,
improvisor, actor, writer and Bon Vivant who
performs both solo and with improv and sketch
comedy groups such as Bay Area Theatresports,
Macaroni Art Theatre, Too Many Larrys and
several others. He produces and appears in the
biweekly "Qcomedy Showcase" at SF's LGBT
Community Center. He is fat. He is imprisoned by cats.
