Great Idea for New Year Celebration
One New Year's day, let us Peace & Civil Lib. activists all gather at City Hall & bring many copies of FARMERS' ALMANACS to pass out to all attending citizens. This is to expose the blatantly cynical attempt of the Homeland (in)Security dept. to turn law-abiding citizens into spies...
Even though the Feds admit there is NO SPECIFIC threat, they have upped the Nat'l Terror Alert status to Orange, in a clear case of using the "terror" scare to manipulate public opinion.
Using the time-honored tactic of crying "Fire!" in a crowded theater, the shameless W Cabal is opportunistically using the New Year holiday as another target to sow panic among the public, and hoping that large sections would then accede to whatever "security measures" the Feds impose to further encroach on previously-hard-won civil liberties.
(Remember, you don't need to fool ALL the people ALL of the time, just most of the people SOME of the time will do--see how well the WMD lie convinced a large percentage of the American public into accepting an illegal, immoral & globally-opposed War of Aggression against Iraq worked?)
