Bishop closes church for ignoring LGBT unions

by cool
An Anglican church in Canada that defied its bishop by refusing to support same-sex unions has been shut down.
The decision by Bishop Michael Ingham to close Holy Cross Church in Abbotsford, British Columbia only days before Christmas is the latest skirmish in a dispute that is threatening to split the Anglican Church worldwide.

The Rev. James Wagner said he told the church's parishioners the news on Sunday, after receiving a letter from the bishop dated December 18 informing him that the church would be closed. "As far as the diocese is concerned we do not exist," Wagner told the National Post. "But I will not abandon these people. Wagner vowed to celebrate mass on Christmas Day at Holy Cross.
