The whole area generally stinks (Martinez, near hway 4). As soon as I start to get close I notice the smell. It's worse on wet days, both foggy and rainy.
A lot of times the smell is a sulfer smell (rotten eggs), but sometimes it's other smells. I'm amazed that people can live out here, in a place that smells 24 hours a day. I only work here part time.
But there hasn't been a shelter in place event for months now, as far as I know.
One person I knew once who was in the reserves here talked about having to go and test areas where something had leaked out, and they'd get there and find a large yellow cloud.
